Sustainable Vacation Home | Ephraim, WI

This new residence integrates modern elements and rustic cabin details to create a sleek, yet warm retreat. A carefully crafted composition of local stone, wood shingles, and modern cement board panels harmonize within its Midwest rural forest setting. Large windows around the perimeter of the house blend the interior and exterior.

The kitchen, dining and living ‘wing’ of the house combines the luxurious feel of tall vaulted ceilings with the more intimate rustic atmosphere of wood ceilings and beams. A key design element is the vertical glass shaft that connections the outdoors into the interior - when it snows or rains, it does so all the way down to the first floor within this glassed enclosure, giving the feeling of being inside a snow globe.

With a primary bedroom suite on the first floor, two spacious rooms for beds and bunks on the second floor, and an additional bedroom in the basement, this home has plenty of space for guests and large gatherings.
