A Matter of Sight |  Chicago, Illinois

This optimist office buildout consists of two main sections. The front area is a high visibility space featuring the receptionist area and display areas. The office area is comprised of a laboratory space, therapy spaces, a pre-testing room, two exam rooms and employee spaces.

The reception and display area is set at an angle that aligns with the building’s angled front facade, while the remainder of the space is squared up with the rest of the building.

The wood used at the reception desk and the frames of the display areas are made from reclaimed wood that was sourced from high school gymnasium seating. High performance LED lighting, low and no V.O.C. finishes throughout, recycled carpeting in the back office spaces and high efficiency water fixtures where used in the project. The Lighting Power Density (LPD) of the space meets the requirements of the AIA’s 2030 Commitment.
