- 3-Star+ Green Home Chicago
Little Big Home's concept revolved around designing the equivalent of a 21st Century, green bungalow. A home that is 'right sized' with appropriate spaces and amenities and all done as green as economically possible.
This home was designed for a young family of four and featured a traditional front façade. Copper rainchains on the front allow rainwater to travel down from the roof exposed to view. The interior features an 'away' room that is used for a study or a guest room in lieu of the rarely used living room. The compact but highly efficient kitchen has splayed walls that open up towards the smaller dining room and to the family room. A centrally located fireplace provides both heat and a visual anchor between the three spaces.
