Chicago, Illinois
“Alternative Visions: Chicago” was an open-ended design competition of the future of Chicago, with results brought about by economic, social, technical or political events. The competition was open to architects 35 years old or younger in the Chicago area.
The solution foresees the time when Soldier Field is left vacant, and the unused space is converted into a dramatic residential complex, reminiscent of Italian hill villages, which fronts onto the vast space of the old stadium.
The scheme was selected by the Chicago Reader as ‘Best of Competition’ from amongst over 200 entries.
